    A recent exchange of thrusts between the managers of Gazprom and the representatives of the EU could have been ignored – sensations of this kind do not live long. However this conflict not only revealed a difference in the approaches to the problems of energy security between users and producers of energy resources but also showed that Russia took a decision from now on to base on own interests, making use of, in the first place, economic arguments in the dialogue with Europe.
    It may be already said that the attempts to shift the gas problem to a political channel and a sphere of emotions did not produce an expected outcome. Else the fact that such attempts have been made is evident....
