RUSAL UPDATES THE DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY

    Rusal (Russian Aluminum) again features an absolute build-up of main technical-and-economic indicators. In 2005 its output of primary aluminum grew by 1.6 %, that of value-added cast products by 13 %, alumina by 26 %, bauxites by 17.5 %. Around sixty new alloy grades were put into production that year. Taking advantage of the favorable market situation, the Russian aluminum leader managed to substantially expand its clients’ base from 286 to 326 consumers. In 2005 its revenue from export shipments increased 9.3 % to US$4.7bn with that of home sales 27 % to US$1.4bn.
